Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of Jean Pontikas, Director, Division of Health Professions Licensure, and Rula Harb, MS, RN, Executive Director, Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, are announcing that the Massachusetts Division of Health Professions Licensure has implemented a new on-line licensing system.
The goal of AANA Peer Assistance is to provide resources and consultation to CRNAs and SRNAs with substance abuse and chemical dependency issues. This is done through volunteer State Peer Advisors (SPAs) chosen by the state associations. The SPAs respond with state specific referrals to calls received from practitioners or students and employers or families seeking information or help. SPAs also provide education to support the wellness activities of CRNAs and SRNAs located in their state with such programs as the AANA State Travel Wellness Exhibit.
Please check your state’s listing in the online Peer Assistance Directory to ensure that a current SPA is in place. The AANA Peer Assistance Advisors (PAAs) can help with any questions or provide assistance in choosing a SPA or forming a state wellness committee. We can also help with defining your state wellness referral mechanism (an AANA essential element for state organizations).
